Delete your ohheymow account
ohheymow is an app by Rowan Tree Solutions LLC. You can delete your ohheymow account in the app, or ask us by email if you no longer have the app. Deleting your account removes your business and the records saved in it, on every device you use. The few things we keep are listed below.
Delete it in the app
- Open ohheymow and sign in.
- Open Settings → Account.
- Press Export my records first if you want to keep a copy of your records.
- Press Delete account.
- Enter your Current password, type DELETE in the box below it, and press Delete account. Keep account closes the dialog without deleting anything.
If you never confirmed your email address, the app shows only the Confirm your email screen: press Delete this account there instead.
The app needs an internet connection for this, and any changes still waiting to be sent must finish first. Deletion takes effect straight away: your records are removed from our service, the copy on your device is cleared and you are signed out. Your sign-in is removed shortly after. Your other devices are refused the next time they connect, and clear their saved copy then.
No longer have the app?
Email hello@ohheymow.com from the email address you sign in to ohheymow with, with the subject Delete my ohheymow account. Sending from that address shows us the request comes from the account holder. If you can no longer use that address, say so, and we will explain how to show the account is yours. We will never ask for your password.
We reply within 3 business days to confirm your request.
We finish deleting your account within 30 days of your request.
Delete some of your data
You can remove some data without deleting your ohheymow account. Sign in, then use the steps below. Changes reach our service when your device connects and finishes sending them. Deleting a place or a place’s history needs a connection: the app does not keep those two waiting on your device.
- A place, for good: in Locations, open the place’s three-dot options, or the options at the top of its own page. Press Delete place, type DELETE, and press Delete place again. Keep place closes the dialog without deleting anything. This permanently deletes the place and everything saved about it: its name, address, map pin and customer contact; its visits, service plan and notes; its forecasts and saved weather decisions; the official weather messages saved for it; its rain gauge’s readings, emptying records and notice settings; its rain and snow history, including hourly readings, daily and yearly totals and rain spells; its warnings, the scores that compare them with radar, our records of the rain checks made for it and our private tally of its minute forecasts; the notices sent for it, the records of how they were delivered and any copy still waiting to be sent; and your answers about whether rain came. A rain notice standing on your phone is taken down quietly. A notice that names only that place is deleted whole. A notice that also names your other places stays, with this place’s name replaced by “a removed place”. The place disappears on your other devices when they next connect. It cannot be undone. An archived place can be deleted the same way.
- A place’s history, keeping the place: open the same options, press Delete history, type DELETE, and press Delete history again. This deletes what was saved about the place’s weather and notices: everything in the list above except the place itself (its name, address, pin and contact, and its visits, plan and notes) and its gauge’s notice settings. The place, its contact, visits, plan, watch hours, place in your list and its gauge’s notice amounts stay. ohheymow keeps watching the place’s weather as before, so new forecasts, readings and notices are saved from the moment you press the button. Public radar records can be read for it again, the last three days of hourly rain at the next hourly reading and yearly totals as they are gathered again; those are new copies of public data, not the ones you deleted. Its warning record starts again from the deletion time; earlier rain spells do not return. It cannot be undone.
- An extra gauge: open Settings → Gauges → Extra gauges. Find the gauge, press Delete, then Delete gauge. Its name, map point and saved emptying records are removed when the change reaches our service. Its rain and snow readings are removed at the next completed hourly reading. Related checked daily totals can remain until a later history update. Notices already sent can remain in notice history. A location’s own gauge has no separate delete button; Delete place and Delete history remove it.
- A customer contact, with Work turned on: open Locations → Work. Find the location, expand Visits, plan and notes, then press Edit contact. Clear the customer’s name, phone and email under Customer contact (optional), then press Save location. This removes those saved contact fields. The location, visits and their history stay. Restore an archived location before editing its contact.
- A work area, with Work turned on: open Locations → Work → Work areas. Move its active locations to another area or make them independent first. Press Remove beside the area, then Remove work area. This removes the area. Locations and visits stay. Archived locations in that area become independent. Past notices can still name the area.
- A phone’s notice registration: on that phone, open Settings → Notifications → This device → Remove this device. Our service clears its push token, the address used to deliver notices, and stops sending notices to it. The device record and notice history stay. Its saved rain-widget key is removed from our service too. If this phone supplies My location, that tracking session is stopped and its stored position is queued for deletion as described below. This does not sign the phone out. To sign out other devices, use Settings → Account → Sign out other devices. Their saved app copies are cleared when they next connect; an offline phone cannot be erased remotely.
- My location: if you have turned it on, open Settings → Locations → My location → Stop My location. This stops location reads on the phone at once. When our service receives the stop request, it stops using the position and asks for its deletion. Failed deletion is retried. An offline phone retries the stop request when connected. We keep only the latest active position, which expires 24 hours after receipt; cleanup can finish later. Replaced or deleted positions can remain in the database’s short version history for up to about an hour. Positions are excluded from backups. A small stop record without coordinates stays to prevent delayed reports from restarting tracking.
How long deleting a place or its history takes: your business record changes the moment the request reaches our service. Records stored apart from it (hourly gauge readings, rain totals and spells, warning scores, rain-check records, copies of notices waiting to be sent, and the rounded map point kept to match official warnings) are removed by our cleanup, which runs every minute, so usually within minutes. About an hour after a place or its history is deleted, the cleanup checks once more and removes anything an hourly reading that was already under way wrote back. Deleting a place or its history is complete within two hours of your request. If our service has a fault, the cleanup keeps trying and finishes within about an hour after the service recovers.
What stays when you delete a place or its history: the minute-forecast accounting records and purchase records listed under What is kept, and for how long, which hold internal IDs and no place name, address or map pin; a small record of each deletion (your account’s and the place’s internal IDs, whether the place or only its history was deleted, and the dates), which holds no name, address, pin or contact and is removed when you delete your account; the receipts kept for changes you sent, so a repeated send is not applied twice, each holding a one-way scramble of the request and its one-line answer and no place name; internal IDs in delivery records for notices shared with other places, which stay with those notices; and service records holding only internal IDs, including controls that quietly remove notices and finished delivery rows, which are removed seven days after delivery finishes. Radar service records with one-way scrambled identifiers are scheduled to expire after seven days. Cleanup can finish later. Help requests you sent stay as support records in your own words. For requests still in your app’s newest 100, the weather attached to them is removed from our copy; deleting the place also removes its attached name and facts. Older requests in our support inbox can keep the place’s name, facts and weather until you ask us to remove them. Copies we emailed stay as described below. Database backups can keep deleted data for up to 30 days.
Archiving instead: to stop a place’s weather checks and reminders and keep the place, open its three-dot options, press Archive, then Archive location. It keeps the location, contact, visits, visit history and gauge emptying records. Once the archived location has gone 30 days without a change, cleanup removes its weather decisions, general forecasts, official warnings and hourly gauge record. Other saved daily and yearly totals can remain until a later history update. Minute forecasts still cited by retained warnings can remain. Finished notices naming only such locations are also cleared; notices shared with other locations can stay. Some older weather records may be removed earlier under their usual history limits. Delete place removes all of these at once.
There is no button to erase visits one at a time, help requests or crash reports. Empty gauge and Mark cleared restart a gauge’s count and keep its weather history; Delete history removes it. Alerts → Clear all hides notices; it does not delete them. Help keeps your newest 100 requests in the app. Older requests remain in our support inbox, and closing a request does not delete it. Emailed copies are kept as support records until we delete them when done. Filtered crash reports are kept for 30 days. They are not linked to your sign-in, so we may not be able to identify a particular report from your email address.
Ask us to remove other data: email hello@ohheymow.com from the address you sign in with. Use the subject Delete some of my ohheymow data. Say which locations, contacts, gauges, history, visits or help requests you want removed, and that you want to keep your account. For a crash report, include the approximate time and app version if you know them. If you cannot use your sign-in email address, say so. We will explain how to show the account is yours. We never ask for your password.
We reply within 3 business days to explain what we can remove, what must stay and when we can finish. We do not offer a fixed completion time for these emailed requests; the buttons above have the times given there. Removing an extra gauge, contact or work area does not erase old notices or copies already included in a help request. Database backups can keep deleted data for up to 30 days. Service logs are kept for up to 30 days. See our privacy policy for the other retention periods.
What is deleted
- Your business: its name, the kinds of work you told us about and its settings.
- Your locations: their names, addresses, map pins, watch hours and customer contacts.
- Your work: service plans, visits, reminders, history and notes.
- Weather records: forecasts, alerts, official warnings and your answers about whether rain came.
- Your registered devices, with their push tokens and notice settings, and the records of your home-screen widgets’ keys.
- Requests you saved in the app.
- Your sign-in: your email address, password and signed-in sessions.
What is kept, and for how long
- A minimal deletion record: the account’s internal IDs, the dates it was created and deleted, and which version of the deletion wording was shown. It holds no email address, business name, location or customer details. It stops a restored backup from bringing your account back. We keep it for as long as we run ohheymow.
- An invitation record, only if you claimed an invitation code: that your account used the code, and when, so the same code cannot be claimed twice. We keep it for as long as our tester program runs. The optional answers you gave with the code are removed too.
- Service logs, which record requests to our service, for up to 30 days.
- Backups of our database for up to 30 days, until they expire.
- Your email to us, if you asked by email, as the record of your request.
- Purchase records, only if you opened a checkout or bought a plan: Paddle’s messages about your subscription, with its status, dates and reference numbers, for up to 90 days, and the records that link each checkout and purchase to your account’s internal ID, so a purchase cannot be linked to another account, for as long as we run ohheymow. None of them holds your name, email address or card details. Paddle, our reseller, keeps its own record of the sale.
- Minute-forecast accounting records: for each time our service asked Rainbow.ai for a location’s minute-by-minute rain, your account’s and the location’s internal IDs, when it was asked, and its units, cost and outcome. They hold no name, address, map pin or customer details. They stay because Rainbow.ai’s bill and our spending limits are checked against them. Each request’s record and its audit lines are deleted automatically about 190 days after the request; one whose cost is still being settled is kept until it is settled. A pacing record of the last hour’s requests and a few days of totals, and older day-by-day copies from before October 2026, are kept for as long as we run ohheymow.
- A My location stop record: a small record that location tracking for your account ended, with the account’s internal IDs and no coordinates, so a delayed report or a restored backup cannot turn it back on. We keep it for as long as we run ohheymow.
If you pay for a plan
Deleting your account does not cancel a plan bought through Paddle, our reseller. While your plan still renews, the app asks you to cancel renewal first: on the Plans page at app.ohheymow.com, press Cancel renewal, or use the link in Paddle’s receipt email. Then delete your account. Refunds follow our refund policy.
The launch-updates email list is separate
If you signed up on this website for ohheymow launch updates, that list is separate from your app account. Deleting your account does not unsubscribe you, and unsubscribing does not delete your account. Every update email has an unsubscribe link, and the launch-updates part of our privacy policy explains the list.
